Story writing, a quest for the layman, possessed by the few and written by many.It’s an art but could be mastered by following a few norms and suggestions.
Find a concept – Always establish a concept before writing a story. A story could easily evolve through a concept. For example take a concept, “The Treasure Hunt”.Even a simple word or phrase could be a concept.
Search for the attributes- Next step could be the search for the attributes. These are the related features of the concept established. Find and pen down all the related features possible to the concept. For example, related feature possible to our concept” The Treasure Hunt” is an island and expedition to the island.
The explanation – Now start writing the story keeping in mind forthcoming events in it.And give relevant twists in between. Step by step explanation could make the story worthwhile.In the example story, “The Treasure Hunt”, the story must start with the preparation of the expedition like a place from where the journey starts, the team selection, and proceed for the expedition, covering the entire journey, reaching to the Island and struggles faced in it.
The Finish- How to finish the story, the end must be as exciting and as imaginative as the explanation. Make the end as dramatic as possible to make the story interesting.In our story, the finish takes place at the difficulties the team gets in finding the treasure at the destination i.e. on the island. The dangers and obstacles the team comes across. The end is happy or sad, it’s up to you.
